Your data stays on your phone.

TouchGrass is a self-directed screen-time wellness app for adults. We built it for people who want to manage their own phone usage. The whole product is designed around one principle: your data stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing leaves your iPhone. TouchGrass has no backend server, no user accounts, and no third-party analytics SDKs. Everything the app knows about you is stored locally in your iPhone's app sandbox:

• Your daily screen-time totals and per-category breakdowns (read from Apple's Screen Time API).
• Your selected daily goal, garden state, plant inventory, streak count, and theme preferences.
• The app selections you make in Pest Control's tier picker (stored as opaque tokens that only your iPhone can resolve).

If you delete the app, all of this data is deleted with it. There is no copy in the cloud because there is no cloud.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or any kind of fingerprint.
• We do not access your photos, microphone, camera, or health data.
• We do not transmit any usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry to ourselves or any third party.

Apple's Screen Time data

When you grant TouchGrass Screen Time access (via Apple's standard Family Controls authorization dialog), the app reads your usage data through Apple's DeviceActivityReport extension. This data:

• Is rendered on-device by an Apple-managed extension.
• Is written only to a private App Group container that lives inside TouchGrass on your iPhone.
• Never leaves your phone.
• Is fully cleared when you uninstall TouchGrass.

You can revoke Screen Time access at any time from the iOS Settings app or from TouchGrass's Maintain tab.

App shields

TouchGrass uses Apple's ManagedSettings framework to optionally shield apps you have personally selected when you reach your self-set daily limit. The shield is applied only on your device, only to apps you picked, and only after you cross the daily goal you set. You can disable shielding at any moment with the "Stand down — stop guarding" button in the Protect tab.

In-app purchases

If you choose to support TouchGrass by purchasing a Sproutly Pro accessory pack:

• The purchase is processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework. Apple handles your payment information; we never see it.
• A portion of net revenue is donated to environmental nonprofits. The current beneficiaries are listed on the launch screen of the app.
• Your purchase is associated only with your Apple ID. We do not see your Apple ID and have no way to identify you across devices.

Children

TouchGrass is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any data from children, and the app is not built or marketed as a parental-control product.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the change here. If we ever introduce a feature that requires data leaving your device (we have no plans to do so), we will explicitly request your consent in-app before any data is transmitted.
